Established in 1946, it is the first national park of Kenya.
The National Monument is a large impressive monument standing in memory and in recognition of the National Heroes and Heroines of Kenya. It was created and foundation stone laid on 10th December 1983 at the Mashujaa Square, Uhuru Gardens.
Uhuru Gardens occupy a large open space of many acres close to Wilson Airport in Langata. It is almost adjacent to the Kenya Wildlife Service Head Quarters in Langata, where the Animal Orphanage, Wildlife Walk and main entrance to the National Park are found.
Located next to Nairobi Railway Station, Nairobi Railway Museum was established in 1971. It contains exhibits from the defunct East African Railways.
